The Autostrade Group is the largest concessionaire in Europe for the construction and management of toll motorways and connected traffic services. In Italy approximately 4 million people, equal to 8% of the population, use the group’s network every day. The network has a total length of 3,408 km and is designed to bring Italy closer to the socio-economic barycentre of Europe by providing efficient motorway links between areas and an indispensable mobility service around large conurbations.
The motorway concessionaire companies within the group are as follows:
Autostrade per l’Italia SpA (2854.6 km of motorways in the network making up the concession). Società Italiana per Azioni per il Traforo del Monte Bianco (management company for the 5.8 km making up the Italian part of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, Autostrade share 51%). Raccordo Autostradale Valle d’Aosta SpA (32.4 km motorway connection between Aosta and Mont Blanc). Autostrada Torino - Savona SpA (130.9 km motorway connection between Turin and the Ligurian coast). Società Autostrada Tirrenica SpA (holder of the concession for the entire 240 km Livorno - Civitavecchia motorway and currently manages the 36.6 km Livorno - Rosignano section. Tangenziale di Napoli SpA (20.2 km Naples orbital motorway). Società Autostrade Meridionali SpA (51.6 km Naples - Pompeii - Salerno motorway). Strada dei Parchi SpA (281.4 km) concessionaire from 1st January 2003 for the Rome - Aquila - Teramo and Torano - Pescara motorways. The concession for the two motorways was granted to the new company in 2001 following public tender by ANAS and lasts until 2009.
