SCL, Terminal Aéreo Santiago S.A., is the company that has managed the Airport concession since January 2, 1999 when the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) (civil aviation authority), through the Ministry of Public Works, officially transferred to it the management of Chile's main air terminal to SCL for a period of 15 years. It was in 1997, when AGUNSA (Agencias Universales S.A.), Chile, SABCO (Administradora de Fondos de Inversiones S.A.), Chile, GRUPO DRAGADOS S.A. , Spain, FCC (Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas S.A.), Spain, YVR Airport Ltda., Canada and DRAGADOS FCC Internacional de Construcción S.A., Spain, joined together to form the private company SCL TERMINAL AÉREO SANTIAGO following the invitation by the Ministry of Public Works to take part in an international tender in January that year.Offers were received in August and the concession was awarded to SCL in November for the expansion, reformation, operation and exploitation of the Airport services.
