Das 10-Prozent-Ziel sollte so lange ausgesetzt werden, bis neue Studien ein klareres Bild über die langfristigen Auswirkungen bzw. Kosten und Nutzen einer intensivierten Produktion von Biodiesel und – ethanol zeichneten. Sollte eine nachhaltige Produktion ohne negative Umwelt-Auswirkungen nicht sichergestellt werden können, dann müsse die EU-Kommission einen geringeren Wert für die Beimischung vorschlagen, forderte das wissenschaftliche Komitee der EEA in Kopenhagen.
